適応によって生じたのである。
太陽はその父、月はその母、
風はそれを胎内に運び入れ、
地はその乳母である。
全世界における
あらゆる完成の父は
ここにある。
それが地に転じるならば、
その力は円満となる。
地を火から、微細なものを
粗大なものから、非常なる勤勉さで
丁寧に分離するがよい。
それは地から天に昇り、
ふたたび地へと降って、
上位のものと下位のものの力を
受けとる。
この方法によってそなたは
全世界の栄光を得、
それによって一切の無明は
そなたから去るであろう。
その力はすべての力を凌ぐ。
それはあらゆる精妙なものにも勝り、あらゆる堅固なものをも
穿つからである。
かくて世界は創造された。
これに由って来たるところの
驚くべき適応、その方法（もしくは過程）はここにある通りである。
ゆえにわたしは全世界の
哲学の三部を具するをもって
ヘルメス・トリスメギストスと
称される。
太陽の作業についてわたしの
語ったことは完遂し畢る。

It rises from the earth to the heavens,
descends to the earth again,
receives the power of the superior and the inferior.
By this means thou wilt obtain the glory of the whole world, and by it all ignorance shall leave thee.
Its power surpasses all other powers, for it surpasses all subtle things, and pierces all solid things.
Thus was the world created.
The marvelous adaptation which resulted from it, and its method (or process) are as follows.
Therefore I am called Hermes Trismegistus, because I possess the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world.
