Java Rice

A Day of Fun, Friendship, and Unexpected Worries
Last night, I stayed up past 1:00 a.m., playing cards and English word chains with my friends.
It was so much fun!
I woke up at 7:50 a.m., feeling like I’d finally had a good rest in a while and refreshed.
After breakfast and a quick study session, I decided to walk to SM City Baguio, about 35 minutes away, to watch the musical movie Wicked.
The ticket cost 370 pesos, and I treated myself to popcorn and juice before heading into the theater.
Filipino movie theaters are quite different from those in Japan:
・Each theater has a restroom nearby, making it convenient.
・You’re given a bottle of water upon entering.
・There are no ads or previews; the movie starts right on time.
These differences were so thoughtful, and I really appreciated them!
The movie was stunning
—its strength, beauty, and themes of friendship left a deep impression.
I regretted not bringing a handkerchief.
The 2 hours and 40 minutes flew by, and the movie ended with “To be continued,” leaving me eagerly anticipating the sequel.
Afterward, I browsed the stores in search of a stylish letter set but only found cute planners and notebooks.
Slightly disappointed, I bought some snacks and walked home.
During my study session later, I discovered that a boy who had just enrolled this week was a junior from my university.
We were both excited to make the connection!
At 6 p.m., our usual group met up for dinner at [Sizzling Plate Leonard Wood].
The Java Rice was so-so, but the meat was delicious!
Afterward, we played Werewolf at school and then headed out to [The Terminal Resto Cafe] for drinks with our Korean and Taiwanese friends.
The bar was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable!
Later, we briefly visited [Hotline Bar], but the club-like atmosphere felt overwhelming, so I returned to school after a few minutes.
Back at school, I learned that my friend had lost his smartphone and was missing.
Worried, I searched all over the campus until 2 a.m.
Unable to do much more, I finally went to bed, still concerned.
