time slows down again (mid-july)
hello! it’s the middle of summer, the middle of july to be precise! this morning I woke up and listened to “sunshine radio” by tommy guerrero, had an espresso, then a avocado green smoothie while studying a bit. its a lovely day today, not too hot!
I finished my exam last friday and had much fun celebrating this past week! some highlights include visiting a new coffee shop that had a very cool retro-modern vibe with good music, starting to organize my ep, picking up a new fragrance from the korean artisanal home goods store in the arts district (hinoki, yuzu, turkish rose among a few other notes), and stopping by my favorite flower shop in los feliz to design an arrangement to take home. I also bought two beautiful branches, one an olive tree the succulent olives hanging off the branches, and the other that looked like some kind of fern, to add a touch of elegance to the office and bedroom.
after the exam, I also made a pitstop to the los angeles apparel warehouse and had a little shopping spree. I got quite a few summer staples and basics that will last me some time! afterwards, I swang by one of my favorite tea shops, then my friend came over to my house for a jam session. we recorded three new song drafts that I’m really happy about and we decided to make our own music project called mango blood! I’m so excited to keep working on it with her.
over the weekend, I attended a company picnic at a beautiful park with my partner, we got to eat matcha shaved ice and at our favorite izakaya in oc (and got our own special booth to sit in for the first time!), and spent most of sunday relaxing, doing groceries, and picked up a cute “make curry not war” poster from a japanese stationary store we visited in arts district.
other than that, the week started off well! had a psychiatry shift at the hospital yesterday and got to spontaneously visit j to catch up with her a bit and eat enoki beef skewers hehe. worked on my art portfolio website a bit, going to head to a cafe to study then my last hospital shift in the emergency department this afternoon.
until next time~
