Then , 2 years later , they handed to her the money for a return ticket to buy and current expense , in addition to let her to promise coming back in 1 year . She started from the Yokohama harbor by herself.

She stayed at the steerage with a capacity of 6 persons . It was not enough spacious for her , also there were almost foreigner in that boat.Fortunately and accidentally she had a chance to get to know a Japanese young woman named  Tatsuko who was about her own age. Oshima felt a strong affinity for Tatsuko because of her own name which was almost the same as her father's name . They talked and talked about their lives with each other on calm 2 months voyage Finally they had arrived at a port located  in southern England  near Brighton which they would go to.
