Hello,there.It's Teacher Asuka.
Today, I'm going to tell you one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Kyoto...it's Fushimi inari-taisya shinto shrine which was built in ancient Nara era. There is the maine shrine at the bottom of Mt.Inari and the whole of Mt. Inari is considered God's territory.
There is around 30,000 inari-jinja shrines in all over Japan and 'Fushimi inari-taisya shrine' in Kyoto is the head shrine of all Inari-jinja shrines in Japan.
The Fusimi inari-taisya shrine is usually called ' oinari-san' and its symbols are a white fox as well as a lot of orange-red color toriis, the gateways at the entrance to a Sinto Shrine.
Around 3,000,000 people will come and visit the Shrine to pray for their Good Fortune throughout a year at the begining of the New Year.
The number of visitors are the most in Kansai area.
For foreign visitors, the shrine is shown as the number one sightseeing spot in Kyoto, according to 'trip advisor', a travel information on the internet.
Do you know that? You can enter the shrine free of charge and easy accsess from the Japan Railway Inari Station. I'll recommend you to go there.
Well, that's all for today.
See you next time!
