The tension between the two countries created by the recent drone attack has attracted great attention to how the United States will deal with the incident because the response could lead to an unnecessary war between the two parties. The United States responded by attacking Iraq and Syria with its air force.

Both the United States and the Iranian governments have stated that they do not want war against each other. However, they have also claimed they will take necessary actions to protect their countries. The balance the White House ought to find was very difficult, and time will judge whether the balance leads the war. Loads of attention has been paid to the reaction of the Iranian government.

The reasons behind

-Why is there a U.S. base in Jordan?
Jordan and the US have held a strong relationship over the decades. The US has provided financial and military support to Jordan over the years.

-Why did the U.S. target Iraq and Syria although Joe Biden blamed Iranian government for the drone attack?
The base was attacked by a military group related to the Iran government, which operates in Iraq. The military group is called Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which consists of 4 groups. They seek to establish an Iran-aligned government in Iraq and they have been supported by one of Iran's military forces in comprehensive ways including financial aid. This is due to a religious conflict inside Islam, Shia, which is believed by the majority of people in Iran, and Sunni, believed by a majority of Iraq and other Islamic world. The US attacked an Iraq and Syria in retaliation for the drone attack because the resistance group that struck the US base in Jordan has hubs in Iraq and Syria. 

The writer's perspective

It was good to show a response from the White House that indicates the US's willingness to use military means against the disorder in the Middle East. It remains to be seen how the Iranian government will react to this retaliation. If the Iranian government doesn't take military action against Biden's attack, it can be said that the US has succeeded in crushing the difficult situation here.

The structural issue is the situation where the US army has bases in the Middle East and other areas in the world. It has brought a lot of bad reptation among the people in the countries which accept the US army base because they don't reckon US as the police of the world and they rather consider US as an empire which wants to put the whole world including their country under control and an invader who wants natural resources and other interest of their countries. The feeling towards US in the most third party countries are considerably bad and that bad reptation of US bring about new issues all over the world, especially in the Middle East. We should think about the spreads of the US army all of the world more seriously and we need to change the situation where countries play a police role in the international community. In the long term, the UN should have their own army without any support from particular countries.
