Working as an interpreter in Vietnam.

After visiting Thailand, I needed to visit Vietnam next.

As my preparation for my work in Vietnam, I read the installation manual in English and Japanese very carefully in advance to learn the basic knowledge.

The aim of the business trip was to install our products and make adjustments. For me, I interpretted what my boss said in Japanese into English and supported his work. The installation was complicated.

After having adjusted the system, we needed to instructed them how to clean the parts for maintenance and adjust and monitor the system. In such case, an interpreter was needed and I was there.

I was not familiar with the product and I had to learn the technical terms in English by heart. In many cases, the technical terms are not used and seen in our daily life, therefore, it was better to learn them ASAP.

The installation working in the factory was good and the factory staff was nice and understood what we told about the product and the importance of the maintenance.

We visited the factory during the Tet, which is Vietnamese New Year (big holiday). After our work, we savored the atmosphere and actually enjoyed eating delicious food there.
