Ep.8 Beginning second time to visit in Australia

My host mother welcomed me at the domestic airport.

They finished a short holiday at a beautiful beach around Brisbane.
Talking about that, I arrived at our house.

Then, I realized I must find jobs.
Because, I don’t want to insult Brisbane though, there is nothing to do in Brisbane.

So, I must get a job to get new experience.

When I asked about it to my classmate, they said “you have to do it asap. Otherwise, all jobs are taken by lots of people. So, do it now.”

And I started to make a resume.

I don’t know why, but I didn’t like applying online.

I didn’t have a positive image about it.
Many people always apply online style.

I was afraid my applying is going to be in one of them and I thought it'll be abandoned.

Because of that, I decided to apply for a job by dropping resumes off mainly.
I can communicate with people whom I meet for the first time.

So, I want to pick this way up absolutely.

But it was tougher than I thought.
At that time, in Brisbane, it was winter.

Every restaurant was very quiet, and they didn’t need any stuff.
My host said about it constantly.

Although it was kind of that situation, I didn’t want to give up, because, I had a purpose to get jib and make my life in Australia stable and satisfied.

Finally, I got a job, in waterloo hotel where is a pub, located in boundary between fortitude Valley and Newstead.

Manager said, “can you come here to do trial on this Friday??”, when I drop my resume off. I said “yes!”.

Fortunately, it was the first day of dropping resume.

But I didn’t take it seriously, I had no reason to stop dropping.

And I did it for one week and I dropped in 120 places.
But only waterloo gave me a chance to do trial.

That is a real of getting jobs in Brisbane’s winter.

Then I went to go to waterloo to do trial.
The trial was so easy job that I thought “do they take me seriously??”

They asked me to take a glass which is empty on tables.
It was an easy job though, I did it safely and I felt nervous.

Because I didn’t want to ruin that chance.

My manager said, “I’ll tell you on Monday by phone call if we want to take you”. She gave me this call on Wednesday lol.
