From the solid rhythm and groove of Chicago House, to the classic sounds of acid, every track is a killer tune taking the floor to further and further heights.
Underground music scene in Tehran, the capital of Iran
Iran is still the scene of nationwide protests that began in September 2022 following the death of a 22-year-old woman detained by the police. We interviewed Kamyar Ring, the owner of Sampatic Records about Tehran's deep underground music scene, along with ksd6700 (Interviewer: O)
─How did you two meet?
Kamyar Ring (Ring): I found his label and sent him a demo.
ksd6700: I think that was back in 2018? I thought datafruits would have a better global reach than my label, so I connected with firedrill from datafruits and "BACKSTABBERS" (datafruits, 2022) was released recently. Tehran Electro!
─Could you tell us about the underground music scene in Tehran?
Ring: If I want to comment on Tehran's underground scene, I must briefly say that you can feel the true spirit of the underground in it, because even being present inside these environments is considered a crime in Iran's current conditions.
─The demonstrations in Iran are reported daily in the news in Japan, and I have also watched some videos posted on the Instagram account of Deep House Tehran, an electronic music platform in which you also involve. I think this is the fight not only for the people of Iran, but also for humanity.
Ring: Yup exactly.
─What can you tell us about your Rockin' Muzik EP?
Ring: To me this is an Acid, dance floor killer kind of EP with ksd6700’s own signature.
ksd6700: Thank you.
─By the way, what does the label name Sampatic mean?
ksd6700: Oh yeah, I forgot to ask that.
Ring: The name Sampatic is inspired by the Sympathetic nervous system which is a network of nerves that helps your body activate its “fight-or-flight” response and it’s activity increases when you're stressed, in danger or physically active.
─Who is your favorite Sampatic artist, ksd6700?
ksd6700: I like Nesa Azadikhah. I think we are from the same generation. Her sound is so cool. Her remix is on Ring's "BACKSTABBERS" which I mentioned earlier.
─ I understand that you are currently based in Istanbul, Turkey.
Ring: That's right. We moved recently.
ksd6700: Your studio is really spacious, isn't it? I'd love to come visit!
Ring: You should come!
─ What are your plans for the future?
ksd6700: The next release will be out soon! I plan to release three more EPs till Dec 2022. And There'll be a release party at the end of the year for these.
