Here We Gather

普段は表に出てこない村民の生活に着目した講師の増田は「ここにつどう」と題して、村内の5箇所で4回のワークショップを行いました。活動期間中もリサーチを継続しながら、村内外様々な人たちと集い、話をする場をつくる取り組みを繰り返し行いました。活動期間中の目印として、収穫カゴなどを組み合わせて制作した「金のサーバー」を作成。村内どこでも目にするような農機具で作られた「金のサーバー」に人が集まり、会話が生まれ、それがまた繰り返されることで、関係性が少ずつ変化していく様子が見られました。

Workshop leader Masuda held four workshops at five locations around Katsurao entitled "Here We Gather." He was interested in the villagers who usually keep to themselves. While continuing his research, he organised a series of events for various people from inside and outside the village to come together and talk. He made a Golden Dispenser from harvest bins and other agricultural equipment commonly found around Katsurao that served as a landmark for the events. People gathered around it and fell into conversation, and as the workshops continued, it was possible to see how little by little their relationships changed.
