動画でessay writing その2
私は動画を見せて、その感想を生徒同士で話し合わせ、最後にEssay Writingをよくさせます。
以前のnoteで授業でよく使う動画を紹介しましたが、その動画を見せて、生徒とがどんなEssayを書いたか紹介します。
今回の動画はこれ。
この時の授業の流れは以下の通りです。
（1) ALTにWhen you were an elementary school student, did you clean your classroom?と質問して、生徒にWho cleans classrooms?と質問した後、この動画を見ます。海外では清掃員(janitor)が清掃することが多く、生徒は違いに驚きます。
（2）見終わった後、Who should clean our classroom?という問いに、生徒は自分の意見を交わします。
（3）見た後に生徒はできるだけ英語を使って、動画の説明や感想を話し合います。
（4）言いたかったけど言えなかった表現を言わせます。教師はそれを板書します。
（5）生徒はそれを翻訳機能を使って調べます。この時の注意は、「翻訳機能なしでも自分の英語として使えるぐらいのレベル」です。感覚としては、「あ、なるほどこういえばいいのか」ぐらいの感覚です。
（6）生徒はEssayを書きます。評価基準は30語以上でA、20語以上でBです。また内容に関しては事実のみだとB、自分の感想を書いていればAとしました。
（7）最後に生徒は自由に立ち歩き、いいと思ったEssayにはGoodを書きます。
下は、生徒の例です。Goodの数も書いてあります。
It is necessary for us to clean school. I think cleaning rooms is good. I think it is usual and we should do it. We can feel happy when we clean school and our room. We have to keep cleaning school. (Good x 10！）
I think it is necessary for us to clean our classroom. When I clean our classroom, I am happy. I have cleaned our classroom since I was seven. It is natural for me to clean myself. I can show my thanks. In other countries, students don’t clean. They can’t show their thanks in other countries. So I think we should clean our school. (Good x 11！）
Cleaning makes us happy. If the classroom is cleaned by us, it will be very beautiful. I think that Japanese students are very great because Japanese students can clean, but I don’t like cleaning because it is boring. It is important for us to clean classrooms. Cleaning is boring, but I want to clean classrooms and my room. (Good x 14！)
I think that it is very important for our future to clean our classroom because we can start to learn how to clean. But we don’t have to clean our classroom everyday. I think cleaning on only Friday is better than cleaning everyday.

I think cleaning ourselves is not good because it takes someone’s jobs away. I don’t like cleaning. (Good x11)
4人目、5人目の生徒は比較的英語が苦手な生徒ですが、英語を道具として使い、自分の意見を書いています。英語そのものを学習するのではなく、英語を使って道徳、学活をやるというイメージで授業をすると、生徒のアウトプットが生き生きとします。
