貴方は本当にレオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチを知っているのか？1-10

キリストの足元には血を流した若者が居ます。しかし注意深く観察すると若者を襲っている兵士に槍が刺さっています。若者は死んではいません。キリストの復活を私がイメージしてしまうのは考えが稚拙だからでしょうか？

私は「アンギアーリの戦い」のタイトルは意味がないものの様に思えてきました。なぜかと言えば「最後の晩餐」に余りにも当て嵌り過ぎるためです。

さて、私はこの現れた画像に対して独自の考察をすべきか迷っています。私はレオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチの指示に従っただけなのです。私は、この現れた画像にだけに意味があると思うのです。私は考察しなかったわけではありません。「裏切り者のユダ」を何故、闘士は助けようとしているのか？闘士の行動はレオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチの考えと言い換えることが出来るかもしれません。彼は「ユダ」を「裏切り者」とは考えていないのかもしれません。私はそれを「最後の晩餐」を見ていただけではそれは分かりませんでした。

私は何故ペトロに槍が刺さっているのかも考えました。キリストの重要な弟子であるペトロをレオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチはどう見ていたのでしょうか？ペトロは頑固もので真面目で、そそっかしく、気が強いようで気が小さい。彼の優柔不断な性格が後のキリスト教の腐敗の火種になったとでも考えていたのでしょうか？キリストは案外ペトロが自分を裏切るのではと思っていたのかもしれません。キリストは神の子ですから全てを知っていたと思います。私は一つ忘れていたことがあります。それは2枚の絵を重ねた時ペトロの顔に鎖がかけられる状況です。彼は何を話してはならなかったのでしょうか？

レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチの立場から考えてみましょう。やはり彼は依頼主の要望を満足させる必要がありました。そもそも、彼は卓越した絵画の技量の持ち主であるからこそ、絵画の依頼があるわけです。彼の技術は世界最高水準であったことは当然の事です。現代の感覚で見てはいけないと私は思います。現代は自分の感覚を作品に現わすことが当たり前です。当時は許されることではなかったと思います。依頼者が満足する作品を制作することが最優先されたはずです。

しかし、その表現の制約のある中でも、彼自身の考えを入れ込みたかったのだと私は思います。普通の画家は単一の作品の中に、気付かれないように仕掛けを施すのですが、レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチは違っていた。謎を解く鍵を別の絵画に仕込んだのだと思います。

彼の天才的な発想は、そこにこそあるのだと思います。当時の有名な画家たちは天才の集団です。卓越した技量と独自の表現力がなければ裕福な支配層からは絵画の制作依頼も無く見向きもされなかったのでしょう。
だから私たちは彼らの絵画に魅了されるわけですが、私たちはいつ迄もそれに感心ばかりしていては前に進めないと思うのです。

I think that is where his genius idea lies. The famous painters of the time were a group of geniuses. Without outstanding skill and unique expressiveness, the wealthy rulers would not have requested the production of paintings and would not have looked at them.
That's why we are fascinated by their paintings, but I don't think we can move forward if we are always impressed with it.
