#98 父の日 vs 母の日 (Mother's day over Father's day?)

最近「幸せ」という単語で毎日検索したらどんな結果がでてくるだろうと毎朝5000件づつ検索しているのですが、昨日「推し」とかに紛れて急に「母」という単語がでてきました。あ、そうか母の日だったと急に思い出した筆者でした。あー、もう少し街の様子を見てくればよかった。シンガポールでも母の日は家族で祝われる結構なイベントというイメージです。

一方こういうときに話題になるのが、あれ父の日っていつだっけ？という話。昨日も同僚とお昼ごはんにでているとそういう話になり。あ、やっぱりシンガポールでも忘れられがち？みたいな話になりました。。。誰かの父親では無いけど何故か寂しさは感じる（なんでだ？）。

そして、、、さすが日本。2つの日を比較したデータの記事がありました。煽情的です。株式会社BCN（2021）の記事でタイトルが「「父の日」軽視の傾向、“とくに何もしない”前年比15.9ポイント増」。なんかすみません。。。左のグラフが母の日と父の日を比べて何をするかというグラフ。黄色が父の日ですが、そもそも緑（母の日）と比べると大体低く、特に何もしないが40%。いや、まあでも肌感には合います。男女別のデータはレポートにはなかったですが、男性に絞ったら特に何もしないが激増しそう（思い込み）。

一方タイトルは「父の日軽視」の傾向となってましたが、3年分の数字を並べると去年だけが少なかったように見えなくもない。2020年だけ「父の日祝わなきゃ！」っていう気分になった様子。なんでだろ。いや、普通にコロナで家に居たから、祝わないと気まずいみたいな話かしら？2021年会社行くようになって元に戻った？どうなんだ？？

こんどは父親応援キャンペーンとかができそうなデータを探してみます。。。頑張っていきましょう。

Recently I started to collect tweet data by using search word "happiness" in Japan. I was wondering what kind of words would be associated with "happiness". Now I'm happy to find the word "mother" next to your favorite celebrities. Yes its a mother's day. I should have walked around to see how does it look like in town to celebrate mother's day. It is very common to celebrate mother's day in Singapore too.

On the other hand, one of the major topic is the how come people tend to forget farther's day… (sad). Yesterday I talked with Singaporean colleagues and they told my that "yes, presence of father's day is lower than mother's day. I'm single and not a father of somebody but … I feel a bid sad for father's in Japan…(why?)

Yes. Good on you. I found ironical data in Japan which compares presence of mother's day and father's day. BCN inc. (2021) has a … challenging title "people see father's day less important and "don't celebrate it" increased up 15.9% vs last year… I feel sorry about it… The left chart shows that What do you do to celebrate father's day and mother's day. yellow bar is the father's day which is basically lower then mother's day (Sad). 40$ don't do anything for father day while only 18% for mother's day… Well the figure is kind of acceptable. If you break it down to males the % would be even lower…

While the title is "presence of father's day is down", the right chart suggest that just year 2020 was exceptionally lower for those who don't do anything for father's day. May be people suddenly felt like celebrating father's day because fathers work from home and you saw him often…. Then it was back to normal on 2021 after fathers are back to the office?? (Sad).

Ummmm. I should find clues that people show respect to their fathers. I'll write an article to support fathers in Japan soon….
