Advance Reservation for Highway Buses in Japan
Advance reservation is required for riding a highway bus in Japan. This is to secure a seat and to facilitate smooth boarding.
There are two ways to make a reservation:

You can make a reservation through the website or reservation site of the highway bus company.
Phone reservation
You can make a reservation by calling the reservation center of the highway bus company.

Once your reservation is complete, you will receive a reservation confirmation ticket.
Be sure to check it before boarding.
Notes
Please make your reservation a few days before the travel date.
While some bus companies accept reservations up until the time of boarding, there may be cases where you are refused due to reasons such as being fully booked. We recommend making an early reservation, especially if you are heading to a popular tourist destination.
Reservations may not be available if the bus is full.
If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible.

Advance reservation for highway buses is a Japanese custom.

(If you want to board from Tokyo Station with "cash", please purchase a ticket at the "JR Express Bus Ticket Office" and come to the bus stop.If you like to pay in cash for tickes departing from Tokyo Station between 5:00am and 6:00am outside office hours, please come directly to the bus stop. )
