「Sta」「Sist」「Stitu」という語根は、ラテン語 stare（立つ）から由来し、物理的な「立つ」という行為を意味する。しかし、単なる身体的な姿勢ではなく、存在の本質、社会的な秩序、そして人間関係の基盤を表現する単語にも幅広く使われている。
例えば、「system」という単語は、語源的に「syn-（共に）」と「sta-（立つ）」が組み合わさり、「互いに支え合って存在するもの」という意味を持つ。これは、system が「人間が集団生活をするために決めたルール」や「お互いが秩序だって関わり合い成り立つもの」として使われる背景にもつながっている。
