Activity report for October 2023 (first half)
upload reports of past activities little by little.
In October 2023, the internship started for newly arrived international students and a business trip to Tokyo.
- October 1st: Visit to Takarazuka, Orange Cafe (Dementia Cafe)
We attended the "Orange Cafe" held in Takarazuka. Two students who had just arrived from the Netherlands also participated.
-October 6th: Farming Workshop & Internship OrientationIn the morning, we harvested sweet potatoes and peanuts with the children. In the afternoon, we invited local residents and high school students and guide the students through the shopping street and conducted interact workshops.
- October 8th: Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art Exhibition "Ah, Not Empathy."
We went to see an exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art, where artist Takeda Riki, whom we are working with at the Ishibashi Commons Project, was participating. It was a strange feeling to see the works that were once in Ishibashi displayed in such a beautiful museum.
- October 7th: Visit to Tsuda University/listening the stroty about "Manakiki Project"
We visited Tsuda University and heard from the staff about the recent activities and future prospects of the "Manakiki Project"(A project to create an inclusive learning environment for children ) .
It was also enjoyable to take a walk around Kokubunji Station and Takanodai Station while receiving explanations about the area.
-October 10th: Farm work, Visit to Housen Cultural Foundation
In the morning, after giving harvested sweet potatoes to the local people, we visited the Housen Cultural Foundation in Osaka City. We were briefed on the "Community Culture Activation subsidy " that started this spring and the foundation's support activities for Japanese art and film.
- October 13th: Farm work, Town Meeting for Community Building @ Takarazuka
We attended a town meeting hosted by the Takarazuka city government. A diverse group of people engaged in community activities gathered and exchanged opinions.
- October 14th: Satoyama Marché @ Takarazuka
We participated in the monthly "Satoyama Marché" in Takarazuka. We sold TARO bread and coffee and nuts produced as part of the "Manakiki Project." We also visited an art exhibition by local citizens held nearby.
-October 15th: Soundscaping Workshop collaborated with Osaka Music College
A soundscaping workshop by students majoring in Music Communication at Osaka Music College was held in Ishibashi. After collecting sounds around Minoh Falls, we returned to Ishibashi, mapped the collected sounds on a map, and shared how we felt with each sounds.
