June 3, 2023 A hands-on event to learn about Japanese culture through cooking


On this day, we invited Tanaka Aiko-sensei , a cooking expert who lives in the Ishibashi area, as a lecturer for the event to learn about Japanese food through hands-on cooking experience. In addition to local people, students from the U.S. and Australia participated in the event.

Before the cooking, Aiko-san gave a lecture on how the Japanese climate impacted the characteristics of the ingredients in each Japanese local area. After the lecture, we enjoyed cooking divided into several teams.

In the end, while enjoying the food, we listened to Aiko-san speak about the Japanese food story, which she has researched and studied in various parts of Japan.
