6.online interaction
In modern society, an increasing number of individuals tend to meet and interact with others on the internet instead of gathering in person. I believe that this phenomenon is disadvantageous to the community and my reasons will be discussed in this essay.
Currently, socialising in cyber space is notably thriving due to development of social network services. Participants of SNS can come into contact with strangers at touch of a button, even if they live in away each other. However, we need to be wary of risks and demerits that may be arise from communicating with others using social apps. One of the evident negative sides is a harmful effect on children’s communication skills. While growing children usually develop their people skills by mixing with others face-to-face, social media can prevent them from engaging in real inteactions and conversations. By way of example, in the United States, some information technology companies are accused of trying to make children addicted to screen time. This could bring about significant difficulties for their growing stages.
In addition, there is another potential danger that direclty connect to the risk of life. That is the possibility that young generations could be involved in crime. On the one hand SNS can make meeting with strangers easier, it also means that malefactors can invite youngsters to a crime readily than ever before, in that parents of young people cannot fully monitor children’s activity. For instance, some youth commit theft or murder cases as a result of an invitation through SNS, without full comprehension of the significance of what they do. This is already a new social issue.
In conclusion, by virtue of the reasons mentioned above, I suppose that the trend is detrimental to society.
