2.overweight problem
“The growing number of overweight people is putting a strain on the health care system in an effort to deal with the health care issues involved. Some people think that's the best way to deal with this problem is to introduce more physical education lessons in the school curriculum. To what extent do you agree or disagree?”
An increasing number of individuals tending towards obesity are becoming a heavy burden to social welfare while health problems are being actualised. Several people believe that the most desirable idea to solve this issue is to enrich physical education classes in school. I partially agree with the suggestion and my reasons will be discussed in this essay.
First of all, there is no doubt that exercise classes are clearly effective on people staying in shape. If citizens attend more PE classes in their childhood, they would be naturally encouraged to have some kind of physical activity as their habit. And such a routine is definitely helpful for people staying fit. Moreover, when considering the above solution from the perspective of growing their sports routine, it’s better than other methods, in that they can try physical activities with their peers or company. Such an environment would contribute to make individuals aware of the enjoyment of outdoor activities.
However, even if schools enrich their PE classes, it would not work well unless there are plenty of playgrounds or parks in their neighbourhood which people can enjoy adquate physical activities. For instance, in highly populated cities, there are a few spacious grounds or convenient sports facilities. It shall make people lose insentive to engage in playing outdoor, leaving them sedentary lives. Therefore, building those space is also an indispensable measure.
In conclusion, because of the reasons mentioned above, although increasing PE is useful, it should be combined with an effort to put up space for sports and physical activities.
