英国の銀行業界を代表する金融サービス事業者団体のひとつで、世界180カ国240以上の会員をもつ。BBA（The British Bankers' Association）。国際的な金融取引の基準となる金利であるLIBORの発表主体であったが、不正問題の表面化により、2014年2月から米取引所大手インターコンチネンタル取引所（ICE）がLIBORの算出・運営を請け負うことになった。
