Tokyo Little House
I visited Tokyo Little House on last Tuesday. This is a conceptual hotel about Tokyo, especially immediately after World War II. When you approach this hotel, you will notice this building is a little old and not luxuious. This hotel uses the Showa-period style house which was built in 1948. The interiors are also old. During the stay you can experience the house design from 70years ago.
Because they have only one guest room, the charge isn't reasonable. for example, today' charge was 23,660 yen per night. But this charge is not per person but per the room. So you can use this room with your family, friend or partner. in addition to, the kitchen is included, so you will be able to save more money, if you cook your own meals.
The first floor is a cafe. There were several photo exhibits and a variety of books on postwar Tokyo.
I enjoyed a ginger ale and scone while looking at photo book of Ginza from the burnt field to the reconstruction.
In the photo book, I found a sign board which I'm familiar with.
That was Kuroda-Toen(Kuroda ceramic gallery). They are a historic gallery founded in 1935 and is still on Chuo-dori in Ginza.
In Japan, we study about war in school education, but most of the time we focus on the general events and how the area we live in has been damaged. Therefore, I did't know much about the bombing of Tokyo. So I thought it would be good to stay here, read a lot of books, and study about Tokyo.
