1.Goes on
Music & Lyrics by Hiroyo Watanabe
The sun sets, the sun rises,
A cycle of time that surprises,
I grow old, my heart wandering,
Where it goes, I'm left wondering.
Fill me up, I'm floating away,
Fading like a river's sway,
Your tears, like drops of rain,
Washing away my endless pain.
Even though they rot and wither,
My life's path, I'll never consider,
One person's way, forever unchanged,
In your embrace, I'll remain caged.
On hot days and freezing nights,
Stay by my side, until my light,
Fades away into the abyss,
Leaving only memories of our bliss.
If you're lonely, come here,
With me, there's nothing to fear,
If you need to be alone, then stay,
I'll be here, no matter the way.
Tell me your heart's content,
And let your worries vent,
Or forget it all, close your eyes,
Count to ten, and let go of all ties.
As you wish, as you believe,
I want to live, with no reprieve,
I wish you had my back too,
Together, our dreams we'll pursue.
What's beyond that horizon,
Is a question with no reason,
My desires won't stop or sway,
As the still life goes on, day by day.
The still life goes on
My life still goes on
The still life goes on
Your life still goes on

Back Story:
This song was actually written when I was in my 20s. I recorded it with a piano and a subdued, melancholic feel. You can hear it from this link▼
The original version "Goes on"
If you listen closely, the song hasn't really changed much (laughs).
The reason I recorded it again this time is that the lyrics still resonate with me, and I had this image of a more passionate rendition in mind. So, I asked my friend Kyon(Kiyokuni Ogawa), who is a bassist and arranger, to do the final arrangement and we recorded it with a new arrangement.
Collaborating with different people adds a different dimension to the work, and it's fun to create music.
But sometimes, it's frustrating when my feelings don't come across as I want them to. When I was younger (when I wrote this song), I played in a band that kept breaking up, and I got tired of it and took a long break from music...
But I always feel like I'm not myself when I'm not doing music, so in the end, I always come back to music.
