基礎情報 / Basic info
地理的には東ヨーロッパに位置し、バルト三国の最南端に位置するリトアニア。ラトビア、ベラルーシ、ポーランド、ロシア（飛び地のカリーニングラード）と国境を接し、EUかつNATOの加盟国です。シェンゲン協定にも加盟しており、使用通貨はユーロです。EUの中では物価は高くなく、日本と同じか安いぐらいです。
Lithuania is geographically located in East Europe, and it is the southernmost country among the Baltic States, bordering with Latvia, Belarus, Poland and Russia (exclave - Kaliningrad). It is a member of the European Union, NATO and Schengen Agreement, and the currency is Euro. Prices are not high compared to other EU countries.
ヴィルニュス空港は滑走路が1本で、01/19 2515mです。知っている限りではB747-400やA340-300クラスの機体が離発着した実績があります。リトアニアの首都にある空港なので、要人機の発着もあります。
Vilnius Airport has one runway: 01/19 2519m. As far as I know, large airplanes such as B747-400 and A340-300 have used the airport. There are some VIP movements as well since it is an airport located in the capital city of Lithuania.

撮影リスクは低いです。カウナス空港ではよく空港職員に撮影を妨げられると紹介しましたが、ヴィルニュス空港では特にそういったことはありませんでした。外周には公式の撮影デッキもあるので、こちらのほうが寛容なのかもしれません。飛行機撮影に関しては、ドイツやスイスなどと比べるとまだまだマイナーな趣味です。
民間旅客定期便がメインで、やはりRyanairやWizzAirが多いです。ただ、AirBalticはじめLOTやLufthansa、SWISS、Turkish Airlinesなども就航しており、大手航空会社もチラホラ見かけることができます。意外なことに、British AirwaysやKLM、Air Franceは2023年夏の時点では就航していません。
Spotting at this airport is safe. I have written an article of Kaunas Airport whose spotting risk is pretty high, but I have never encountered a situation which airport authorities stopped me to photograph airplanes. There is even an offical spotting deck along the fence at Vilnius Airport. Spotting is not a popular hobby in Lithuania unlike in Germany or Switzerland.
The airport is mainly used by passenger regular flights, many of them are Ryanair and Wizz Air. However, there are also some full service carriers such as Air Baltic, LOT Polish, Lufthansa, SWISS and Turkish Airlines. Surprisingly, some mega airlines such as British Airways, KLM and Air France do not operate at this airport as of summer 2023.
撮影スポット / Spotting locations
１．公式展望デッキ / Official observation deck
空港南西部にあります。空港ターミナルからは徒歩で到達できます。週末はよく家族連れがやってくるので、デッキが満員になっていることも多いです。デッキはかなり狭いです。午後順光で、特に手前の誘導路を通る飛行機の場合はCS300で30mmほど、滑走路上のB737-800で125mmほどです。24時間365日開いています。
The observation deck is located in the southwest of the airport. You can access by walking from the terminal building. It is often crowded on the weekends with families, and the deck itself is quite small. Good light condition can be expected in the afternoon until sunset, and you just need wide lenses. For instance, you need 30mm for CS300 on a taxiway and 125mm for B737-800 on the runway. The deck is open 24/7.
２．空港駐車場P1, P4, ADC Parking / Airport Parking P1, P4, ADC Parking
こちらは空港ターミナルの向かい側にある立体駐車場です。3つありますが、それぞれ駐機場の見え方が違うのでターゲットの駐機スポットに合わせて立ち位置を調整してください。駐機場のCRJ900やCS300で130~140mm以上、滑走路上のA330-200で200mm必要です。エレベーターで屋上に上がり、撮影できます。
This location is on the rooftop of parking houses on the other side of the terminal building. There are three parking houses, and you can adjust your spotting location depending on your desired targets. You need 130~140mm or more for CRJ900 and CS300 on the apron, and 200mm for A330-200 on the runway. You can go to the rooftop by using an escalator.
３．VIPターミナル南 / VIP Terminal - South
ここはVIPターミナルの南側にあります。通常の旅客ターミナルからは徒歩で駐車場を突っ切って到達できます。フェンスの目がとても粗く、直径70mmのレンズでも通ります。3つあるVIPスポットのうち、最も南側のスポットに駐機している機体や、ターミナル北側に止まっている飛行機を撮影することができます。要人の発着があるときは、追い出されます。
This location is in the south of the VIP terminal. You can reach there by foot from the passenger terminal by crossing parking lots. You can easily photograph planes even if your lens has a diameter of 70mm since fences at this spot have large meshes. You can see airplanes on the southernmost parking position among the three VIP spots as well as airplanes on the northern side of the terminal. You will be sent away when VIPs are arriving and departing at the VIP terminal.
VIPスポット最南端。ここに直接発着することはなく、次の便まで時間が長い時に駐機させられます。/ On the southernmost spot among the VIP spots. Airplanes usually do not directly arrive pr depart here with passengers. They are parked when there is plenty of time until the upcoming flight.
４．空港北側外周 / Airport North
この場所は空港外周北側のフェンス沿いで、フェンス越しに撮影できます。空港ターミナルからは徒歩でアクセスできますが、すこし分かりづらいので下の写真を参考にしてください。日没後は真っ暗になって街灯も少ないため、ご注意ください。特に冬場は日没が15時50分台のこともあります。フェンス沿いに雑草が生い茂っていることも多く、マダニがいたりトゲのついた植物があったりするので、長ズボン着用は必須です。
This spot is along the fence on the northern side of the airport. You can access there on foot from the terminal, but please look at the map below because it is a little bit tricky. There is no street light in this area, and it will be completely dark after sunset. Esepecially in winter, sunset is around 15:50. There is grass along the fence, and you need to wear long pants to save yourself from ticks and plants with prickles.
特にVIPターミナルのスポットでは真横からグランドレベルで撮影できます。なお、ここのスポットはA321まで対応しており、B757以上の大きさの飛行機は入れません。
You can get sideshots of airplanes on the VIP area. The VIP spots can handle A321 or smaller. Airplanes bigger than B757 cannot park here.
