Creative robotics! This month the Creator’s Laboratory program has been focusing on creative robot designs relying on recycled and repurposed materials. Today they finished their giant junk-bot project which has been building up for a few weeks!
Summer fun! The Acorn and Sprout classes have been exploring their summer theme through a ton of play-based centers. The classroom has transformed itself into the oceanside!
The Olive class has started off their study of Greece with a strong interest in laurel leaves. They have dried their own leaves and have been working on a variety of projects with them. They also designed our own mosaic of the Greek flag.
Dots and lines! This month the Art Studio program explored the colorful works of Aboriginal Australian artist Emily Kame Kngwarreye! No brushes were used in any of the paintings, instead we used our fingers and corks to replicate her style.
Inspired exploration! The Oak class was suddenly inspired while playing outdoors. By diverging water to create a river system, they revisited a topic touched on in their Peru theme!
This month we launched a new enrichment program called “Creator’s Laboratory” which will focus on the intersection between creativity and science. For the first month we explored different ways of taking advantage of random results to be creative.
Studying masterpieces! During our special reading programme this month, the Oak class walked through the famous Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands with Miffy, discovering and analyzing artworks by the one and only Rembrandt van Rijn!
