September 6, 2023 正規応援団での応援演技（松山東高校運動会）Cheering performance by the regular cheering squad (Matsuyama East High School Sports Day)

　僕の通う松山東高等学校は、伝統的に行事を大事にしており、文武の両立にとどまらず、勉学・部活動・学校行事の「三立」をモットーにしています。リレーカーニバル、ボートレース大会、運動会など一年間にたくさん開催される行事を、生徒が主体となって運営します。
　この日は、それらの行事の最大のもので、その規模の大きさが県内でも知られている運動会でした。
　僕は、剣道部の他に、二年生を中心に構成される「正規応援団」に所属しています。正規応援団は、各部活動の大会出場に際しての壮行会、硬式野球部夏の大会の応援（日本の夏の風物詩）、そして前述の年間行事で応援演技を披露します。
　運動会は、校外の観客にも公開する最後の演技の機会となります。

　The motto of my school, Matsuyama East High School, is “Sanritsu”, which means not only balancing the liberal arts and martial arts, but also academics, club activities, and school events. Students take the initiative in organizing many events held during the year, such as relay carnivals, boat race competitions, and athletic meets.　This was the largest of those events, an athletic meet known throughout the prefecture for its sheer size.　In addition to the kendo club, I am a member of the “regular cheering squad”, which consists mainly of second-year students. The regular cheering squad performs at pep rallies for each activity when they participate in tournaments, cheers for the baseball team at summer tournaments (a Japanese summer tradition), and performs at the aforementioned annual events.　The Sports Day is the last opportunity for the team to perform for an audience outside the school.
