これからも原文に寄り添い、間や空間、描かれた情景を鉞子さまの言葉ひとつひとつと丁寧に向き合っていきたい。

−As Mother handed the mirror-case to Sister, she said the same words that every mother says to a bride. −それから母は、戦いに出でたつ武士のように雄々しく新しい生涯にたち向うようにと、おきまりの門出の言葉をいいきかせ、次いで「毎日、この鏡をごらんなさい。もし心に我儘や勝気があれば、必ず顔に表れるものです。よっくごらんなさい。松のように強く、竹のようにもの柔らかに素直で、しかも雪に咲きほこる梅のように、女の操をお守りなさい」と申しました。
