My Summer Vacation

Last summer vacation was the best time of my life. I went to the countryside to visit my grandparents. They live in a small village near the mountains. The air there is fresh, and the scenery is beautiful. Every morning, I woke up early to see the sunrise. The sky turned from dark blue to bright orange. It was amazing!
During the day, I helped my grandparents with their farm work. They grow many kinds of vegetables and fruits. I learned how to plant tomatoes, water the plants, and pick ripe apples. It was hard work, but it was fun. My grandparents were happy to teach me, and I was glad to help them.
In the afternoons, I explored the village with my cousin, Ken. We rode our bicycles along the river and climbed trees in the forest. One day, we found a small waterfall. The water was cool and clear. We played in the water and had a picnic nearby. We ate sandwiches and drank lemonade. It was a wonderful day.
In the evenings, we sat around the campfire and listened to my grandfather’s stories. He told us about his childhood and the adventures he had. My grandmother made delicious food for us. Her cooking was the best! We ate grilled fish, fresh vegetables, and homemade bread. After dinner, we watched the stars in the night sky. I had never seen so many stars before. It was like a dream.
My summer vacation ended too soon. I was sad to leave my grandparents and the village. But I have many happy memories. I hope to visit them again next summer. This vacation taught me a lot and made me appreciate the simple things in life.（289語）
