昨日の「3月5日は何の日」で調べてみると，いろんな情報が出てきた。アメリカ合衆国では，4年に一度の大統領選挙の「スーパーチューズデー」だった。

　 1996（平成8）年に公益財団法人 世界自然保護基金（WWF）によって制定 された「珊瑚の日（サンゴの日）」でもあるそうだ。自然環境や野生動物の保護活動にとって大切な日である。2月に沖縄県の本部町谷茶にある140万年前のサンゴ礁からできた「珊瑚石」に祀られた御太陽大明神を訪れた。沖縄の地元では，ここから各家庭に火の神のエネルギーが送られているという。

　日本では，第一回青梅マラソン（1967年）が開催されたのも3月5日だった。東京都中野区に住んでいた伯父が青梅マラソンによく参加していた。3月5日の花は君子蘭（くんしらん）で，花言葉は「誠実，高貴，情け深い」だそうだ。

　昨日3月5日に初孫が生まれたものだから，ついついと関係性があるのかないのか知らないが，探索にふけった次第である。こんなことを真面目に調べるのは，親ばかというものであろう。

In Japan, the first Ome Marathon took place on March 5th, 1967. My uncle, who lived in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, used to participate in the Ome Marathon frequently. The flower for March 5th is the Gentian Orchid (Kunshiran), with the flower language being "sincerity, nobility, and compassion."

Since my first grandchild was born on March 5th yesterday, I couldn't help but wonder if there is any connection or if it's just a coincidence, leading me to delve into exploration. Investigating such things seriously might be considered a sign of being a proud parent.
