電動キックボードに当て逃げされた：2024年12月5日（木）

昨日の12月4日（水）午前8時40分頃，京都市の二条城付近の東堀川押小路の交差点において，ビアンキのマウンテンバイクに乗って自宅から大学への通勤途上で，直角方向から飛び出してきた（ノーヘルメットの若い女が運転する）LUUPの電動キックボードによってビアンキの後輪に衝突を喰らい「当て逃げ」された。

　おそらく，ビアンキの後輪のタイヤは歪んでしまっているだろう。京都府警は，京都市内の電動キックボード利用者の交通違反の取り締まりを徹底すべきだ。今回の電動キックボード利用者が起こした事案では，①ヘルメットをかぶらず，②一時停止もせずに道路に飛び出し，③ブレーキもかけずに，④ぶつかっても逃走する，これは最悪だろう。このような「危険運転を可能とするようなモビリティ（電動キックボード）は，京都市のようにインバウンドをはじめとする観光客が多い場所では，早急に利用を禁止にすべきだ。

　大事には至らずラッキーであったが，一歩間違えれば，命を落とすところだった。なかでも，平気で「当て逃げ」することについて，つくづく「頭に来た」。観光地だから，逃げても大丈夫だと思ったのだろうか？甘いにもほどがある（「ふてほど」ならずも「あまほど」だ！）。

I was the victim of a hit-and-run by an electric kickboard: Thursday, December 5, 2024

Yesterday, December 4 (Wednesday), around 8:40 a.m., at the intersection of Higashihorikawa and Oshikoji near Nijo Castle in Kyoto City, I was commuting from home to university on a Bianchi mountain bike when a LUUP electric kickboard, driven by a young woman without a helmet, darted out from a perpendicular direction and collided with the rear wheel of my Bianchi. It was a hit-and-run.

The rear tire of my Bianchi is likely bent. The Kyoto Prefectural Police should strictly enforce traffic regulations for electric kickboard users in Kyoto City. In this incident caused by the electric kickboard user:
1. She was not wearing a helmet.
2. She darted onto the road without stopping.
3. She did not apply the brakes.
4. She fled the scene after the collision.

This is unacceptable. Mobility devices like electric kickboards, which enable such reckless driving, should be promptly banned in tourist-heavy areas like Kyoto City, where many inbound visitors are present.

I was lucky that the situation did not escalate into something more serious, but one misstep could have cost me my life. Above all, I am furious about the audacity to commit a hit-and-run without remorse. Did she think it would be fine to run away just because it’s a tourist area? Such naïveté is utterly absurd and infuriating.
