Vamos！：2024年10月14日（月）
2024年10月11日に，アメリカの大リーグのナショナルリーグ西地区シリーズの第5戦がロサンゼルスで行われ，ドジャースがパドレスに勝ち，通算3勝2敗でリーグ優勝決定シリーズ進出を決めた。この日，ポストシーズンでは初めてとなる日本人投手の対戦となり，パドレスはダルビッシュ有，ドジャースは山本由伸だった。次は，日本時間で10月14日の午前中に，ナショナルリーグ東地区のメッツと対戦だ。
２対０でドジャースがナショナルリーグのチャンピオンシップシリーズ進出を決めた際に，大谷翔平が発した歓喜の言葉が「バモ―！」だったということで，この言葉に関心が寄せられることになった。
Vamos（バモ―，バモス）はスペイン語とポルトガル語由来の表現で，サッカー競技の応援の際に使われている。英語で言う”Let's go!”，”Come on!"に相当する言葉だ。スペインサッカーではバモスという言葉は欠かせないもので，シチュエーションによって意味がそれぞれに変わり，大変便利な言葉だという。「スペイン頑張れ」の”¡Vamos España!”，「よし，行くぞ」の”Vamos,adelante”，得点後の「よっしゃー！」の”¡Vamooooooos!，などだそうだ。詳しくは，「しえ」さんのブログをご参照ください。
少し都合主義的な考えかもしれないが，この際，大谷翔平選手には日本語を世界的に普及させることに貢献してもらうためにも，Vamos（バモ―，バモス）に替わる日本語で歓喜の言葉を発声してもらいたいものだ。
しかしながら，ふと考えてみるに，日本語にはVamos（バモ―，バモス）に替わるような便利な言葉はあるだろうか。スペイン人の明るさや楽天的な国民性は，少なからず，こうした言葉が存在して，日常的に使用していることによるものではなかろうかとも思う。いまを明るく生きることが上手くない日本人は，スペイン人の明るさを見習う必要がある。

When the Dodgers secured their spot in the National League Championship Series with a 2-0 win, Shohei Ohtani reportedly shouted “¡Vamooooooos!” in celebration, sparking interest in the word.
“Vamos” is a term derived from Spanish and Portuguese, often used in soccer to cheer. It’s equivalent to “Let’s go!” or “Come on!” in English. In Spanish soccer, “vamos” is an essential word, adapting its meaning based on the situation, making it a very versatile term. Examples include “¡Vamos España!” for “Go Spain!”, “Vamos, adelante” for “Alright, let’s go”, and “¡Vamooooooos!” as a cheer after scoring. For more details, please refer to Shie’s blog.
This may be a somewhat opportunistic idea, but I would like Shohei Ohtani to shout a Japanese word in place of “Vamos” to contribute to the global spread of the Japanese language.
However, upon reflection, is there a convenient word in Japanese that can replace ‘Vamos’ (Bamo, Vamos)? I wonder if the brightness and optimistic nature of the Spanish people may, to some extent, stem from the existence and everyday use of such words. The Japanese, who are not particularly skilled at living brightly in the present, should learn from the cheerful disposition of the Spanish.
