マクロ経済学の45度線モデル：2023年11月28日（火）

　いま流行りの代表的な経済学テキストのひとつは，ダロン・アセモグル/デヴィッド・レイブソン/ジョン・リスト『入門経済学』であるという。1980年代の私たちが学生のときはポール・サミュエルソン『経済学』が代表的なテキストであった。

　サミュエルソンの『経済学』では，財政政策によりマクロ経済を安定化させる仕組みを乗数効果によって説明するモデルとして，いわゆる『45度線モデル』が使われていた。いまや，アセモグルほかのテキストでは，この乗数効果はゲーム理論での「戦略的補完性」の概念で説明されるものとして，45度線モデルによる説明は使われていない。金融についても，最近のテキストでは，なぜ金融危機が起こるのかを理解するための概念を中心に説明されるようになっている。

One of the currently popular and representative economics textbooks is said to be "Introduction to Economics" by Daron Acemoglu, David Laibson, and John List. When we were students in the 1980s, Paul Samuelson's "Economics" was the representative textbook.

In Samuelson's "Economics," the so-called "45-Degree Line Model" was used to explain the mechanism of stabilizing the macroeconomy through fiscal policy by means of the multiplier effect. Nowadays, in textbooks by Acemoglu and others, the multiplier effect is explained as a concept of "strategic complementarity" in game theory, and the explanation based on the 45-Degree Line Model is no longer used. Regarding finance, recent textbooks focus on concepts to understand why financial crises occur.
