峰麓湯：2023年8月26日（土）

叡山電車（叡山電鉄）鞍馬線の終着駅「鞍馬」を降りて，さらに鞍馬の山の奥に，くらま温泉があり，露天風呂の峰麓（ほうろく）湯がある。

　私は，2009年に京都産業大学に着任してから，暫くの間の数年間，この峰麓湯がとても気に入り，何度も大学の授業後に露天風呂に通ったことがあった。大学から徒歩で叡山電車鞍馬線の二軒茶屋駅まで行き，そこから電車に乗り鞍馬駅まで行くと，くらま温泉の送迎バスが駅から定期的に往復していた。

　当時は，結構な日本通の外国人がこの峰麓湯を利用していて，露天風呂で読書をしている人が多かった。この峰麓湯は，鞍馬寺の近くにあり，牛若丸（源義経）も愛用していたと言われている。

　残念ながら，台風やコロナ禍の影響もあり，2021年以降，臨時休業になっている。営業再開に期待している。

Hōroku Hot Springs：August 26th(Saturday)

After getting off at "Kurama," the terminal station of the Eizan Electric Railway's Kurama Line, there is Kurama Onsen further into the mountains of Kurama, where you can find the open-air bath of Hōroku Hot Springs.

Since joining Kyoto Sangyo University in 2009, for several years thereafter, I had taken a liking to Hōroku Hot Springs. Many times, I would visit the open-air bath after university classes. Walking from the university to Eizan Electric Railway's Nikenchaya Station, and from there taking the train to Kurama Station, a shuttle bus for Kurama Onsen regularly operated to and from the station.

At that time, quite a few Japan enthusiasts from foreign countries were utilizing Hōroku Hot Springs, and many people were reading in the outdoor bath. This Hōroku Hot Springs is located near Kurama Temple and is said to have been favored by Ushiwakamaru(Minamoto no Yoshitsune) as well.

Unfortunately, due to the impacts of typhoons and the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been temporarily closed since 2021, and there is hope for its reopening.
