中国の地図：2023年9月6日（水）

中国の自然資源省が，8月28日に2023年版の標準地図なるものを公表した。中国側の一方的な領土の主張と表記により，隣接するアジア周辺諸国・地域とインドから，当然のことながら，大きな抗議と反発を引き起こしている。

　中国に隣接する国は，どの国も中国が一方的に主張する標準地図を標準と認めていない。厚顔無恥と言われても弁明の余地がない，このようなやり方を国際社会において無神経に行う国に，「東アジア共同体構想」や「一帯一路構想」とかを標榜する資格なぞ，そもそも有していないのではなかろうか。隣国に敬愛の気持ちを持てない国では，いつまで経っても，どの国に対しても「戦略的」関係以上のものを構築できるはずもない。

On August 28, the Ministry of Natural Resources of China released the 2023 edition of what they call a "standard map." This map has triggered significant protests and backlash, as it contains one-sided territorial claims and designations by China, leading to natural outrage from neighboring Asian countries and regions, as well as India.

None of the countries neighboring China recognize China's unilaterally claimed "standard map" as the actual standard. It is hard to argue against accusations of shamelessness when a country engages in such insensitive behavior on the international stage. Perhaps, one might question whether a country that cannot muster respect for its neighboring nations is qualified to promote concepts like the "East Asia Community" or the "Belt and Road Initiative." In a country that cannot foster feelings of goodwill among its neighbors, it is unlikely to build anything more than "strategic" relationships with any nation, no matter how much time passes.
