WEDNESDAYで英語学習①

Netflixに登録してみた。

マーベルシリーズが好きな私は、ディズニープラスで十分だった。

しかし、夫が地面師を見てみたいと言ってお金を出してくれたので、ついにNetflixデビュー。

サブスクの王道っぽいから、デビュー嬉しい。

さて、
地面師はそこそこに、私はとあるドラマにハマり
一夜で見終えてしまった。

WEDNESDAY。

中学生の頃、やたら隣の席の子が
水曜になるとウェドネスデー、ウェドネスデーと
言うので、綴りは完璧になっていた。

しかし、私の英語力は中学生をピークに
伸び悩んだ。

読めない！書けない！言えない！聞こえない！

ただ、発音だけは褒められる。
「海外に行ってたことあるの？」
「いいえ、日本から出たことありません。」
こうしたやりとりを数人の英語教師と繰り返した。

発音良いって言われるけど、自分から
話せない…英語得意って言いたい…

よし、シャドーイングできるくらい練習してみよう！効率とか考えずに、もう、好きなようにやろう！

ウェドネスデーを教材にして！！

という流れでTOEIC580点がなんかテキトーに
英語学習してみます。

まず、ドラマ全体はキツイから
推しのタイラーが出てくる場面だけを練習。

1話　34:00〜
Holy crap!  うわ！
下品じゃないスラングらしい。
さすがタイラー。可愛い。

Do you make a habit of scaring the hell out of people?
もう速すぎて聞き取れない。
言えないと聞こえない、ってこういうことね。

It‘s more of a hobby.
それはもっと趣味です？どゆこと。

これはわかる。完璧。

Didn’t realize they changed the uniform.
主語省略ってのは聞いただけではわからない。

I need a quad over ice.
It’s an emergency.
クアッドがわからん。

30ccがソロ。その4つ分だって。
120cc飲みたいってこと？ふむ

Yeah, I know what a quad is,
but, spoiler alert, the espresso machine’s
having a seizure, so all we have is drip.
聞いたことも、見たこともない単語、seizure。

I can’t be bought , so either wait, or find someone else to drive you.

なびかないタイラーなのでした。
それにしてもえぇ声や…
甘いマスクで低い声なのがポイント高いのよね。

これを何度も繰り返して覚える。
覚えて意味あるとかないとか考えず、
ただひたすらタイラーのシーンを見て
真似て可愛がる。それだけ。
