英訳 ENGLISH TRANSLATION
These days, I’ve been trying to get out of bed as soon as I awake.
Soon enough, that person who always leaves their door unlocked will run into trouble.
I look upon the drifting clouds, then I cross the street at the crosswalk.
It immediately turns red. The promise I made in April, half-running, I should still be able to keep it.
Where is this place? It took me 2 hours, and it was far.
Today I’m working again. Aren’t I a good girl for not going to the pachinko parlor? <1>
Lights that aren’t the sun
Overflow beyond this dim black night.
They shine through the small holes cut in sketchbook paper
And turn into city lights and the night sky.
That’s going to become a very popular city one day, I’ve heard.
Today I’m working again. Aren’t I a good girl for not going to the pachinko parlor?

訳注 TRANSLATORS NOTES
<1> A popular kind of gambling venue in Japan.
Hello, it's Fig! This is one of my favorite, if not my favorite Shibata Satoko songs so I had to translate it.
Note that in Japanese, it's very difficult to tell who/what the subject of a sentence is which means that (as always) I took a fair amount of liberties and set the lyrical subject the way I feel it's appropriate - though it may not be the same for you! Also I have no idea what the title means, I'm sorry.
Peace!
