The number 8 represents the completeness of both the material and the spiritual.

Swords symbolize thoughts, words, and ideas.

Normally, the completeness of 8 feels very positive, but in the case of Swords, as the number approaches 10, it draws closer to “emptiness.” It feels very Buddhist.

The more you refine your thoughts, the more you realize that the “self” doesn’t actually exist. That’s why I think Swords are a philosophical suit.

At this stage, the mind becomes more receptive. Up until now, you’ve polished your thoughts, creating an ideal, beautiful mental world, but you begin to realize that such a thing was just an illusion.

That said, it’s not so easy to let go of what you’ve built up until now, leading to inner conflict.

To consciously work through this, deep meditation is recommended. By gazing deeply within yourself, you can reach a state of selflessness. It really is very Buddhist.

It might be easier to understand if we frame it as letting go of attachment or fixation, rather than “self.”

This is truly a case of “easier said than done.” Even when we understand this, humans tend to remain trapped by their attachments. That’s why we need to meditate daily and practice letting go of these attachments.

Honestly, this makes me want to study Buddhism more! (Haha)

Wishing you a great day!
