英語でアフレコ原稿 コーヒーを淹れる
今年やりたいことリストのひとつ、英語をもっと自分の言語にする。
英語で考えることを習慣化するため、日常の動作に脳内で英語でアフレコするという実験をしたいと思う。
今朝、コーヒーを淹れながらアフレコしようとしたら、
ぜんぜん出てこなくてガックリ。
えーあれもこれも英語でなんて言うか知らないし、日本語でもこの動作どうやってんのか説明できないわ。
普段どれだけボーっと生きてるんだろうと思った。
まずは日本語でここに書き起こして英語にします。
Deep Lで翻訳してしまうか、自力で最初から英作文するか迷って、
自力で英作文ののち、Deep Lと比較することにしたので、DeepLの部分を太字で表記します。

ケトルに500mlの水を入れてスイッチを入れる。
I pour 500ml of water in a kettle and turn it on.

手挽きのコーヒーミルにコーヒー豆をスプーンで２杯入れる。
I put 2 scoops of coffee beans into my manual coffee grinder.
Put 2 spoons of coffee beans in a hand-ground coffee mill.
取っ手を回して豆を挽き、手応えがなくなったら完了。
I keep turning the handle until I feel no response.

ドリッパーにフィルターをセットして、挽いた豆をすべて入れ、平らに均したら真ん中に人差し指でくぼみを作る。
I set a filter in a coffee dripper, pour the ground coffee and make the surface even. Then make a small hole at the center with the tip of my finger.
Set the filter in the dripper, put all the ground beans in, and when flat and even, make an hollow indentationin the middle with your index finger.
お湯が湧いたらノズルの細いケトルに注ぎ、それでくぼみの中にお湯を注ぐ。
I pour boiled water into a small coffee kettle to pour it into the hole.
When hot water comes to the boil, pour it into a kettle with a narrow nozzle and pour the hot water into the hollow with it.
フィルターをお湯がのぼってくるのが見えるくらい30秒ほど蒸らしたら、同じくぼみにゆっくりたっぷりとお湯を注ぎ入れる。
I wait for about 30 seconds until I see water comes up the filter and coffee steamed. Then I pour water into the hole gently.
Steam the filter for 30 seconds or so until you can see the hot water rising up through the filter, and then slowly pour plenty of hot water into the same hollow.
真ん中がむくむくと膨らみ、盛り上がって土手のようになったところを決壊させないようにして、中心から外側へ渦を描くようにお湯を注ぐ。
I see coffee swells. I pour water carefully not to break the swell and gently…Pour hot water in a swirling motion from the center outward, making sure not to break the bank that has swelled up in the middle.
土手がフィルターに到達したらまた中心へ戻り、再び渦巻き状にお湯を注ぐ。
When the bank reaches the filter, go back to the center and pour hot water in a spiral pattern again.
ケトル1杯半のお湯を注ぎきったら、、ドリッパーを満水で引き上げる。
After I pour 1.5 kettles of water, I remove the dripper with full water inside.
When a kettleful and a half of hot water has been poured, pull up the dripper with full water.
自作する時、くぼみ、土手、決壊、渦巻き状に、という表現が出てこなかったので、その文は途中で切り上げた。
DeepLと比較しながら、hole, hollow, indentationの違いが気になったのでググったが、コーヒーにつけるくぼみを表す語彙としてどれが適切なのか、分からなかった。
そこでhow to hand drip coffeeと検索すると、AIが英文で一連の流れを教えてくれていた。
だがAIはくぼみを作らないでお湯を注ぐタイプであった。
しかし同時に、コーヒーが自身の炭酸ガスでむくむくと膨れて来る様子を''bloom''ということを知った！コーヒー用語があるのだ！
そこで、Youtubeにて英語でコーヒーの淹れ方を見てみると、私は英語でコーヒーの淹れ方を聞いたのは今が初めてであることに気がついた。
インプットがないんだから、アウトプットができるはずないのである！
この回りくどい気付きのプロセスこそが楽しい経験である。
このあとはYoutubeでコーヒーの淹れ方を英語でたくさん聞くことにする。
