Day 81: Sailing (3/21/2020)

Tao is sometimes compared to the ocean.
One who accepts is sustained. Those who go beyond its terms meet death. Thus the wise say that they float here and there without care; they trust in the overwhelming power of Tao.

タオは海にたとえられることがある。その深さは測り知れず、その道に入るものを凌駕する。想像を超えた壮大な海を前に、若者はどこまでも貪欲にすべてを知ろうとするのに対し、老いた者はすべてを知ることはあきらめ、海とともにただようのみである。自分の無力さを受け入れる者は生き永らえ、抗う者には死が待っている。
