昨日 ”褒め言葉" というタイトルの記事を投稿し、その中で、"褒め言葉” (compliment) を使った英語例文を紹介しました。

少し しつこくて心苦しいのですが、残り二つの文章も追記させて下さい。

一つ目は
・The power of a sincere compliment lies in its ability to make people          feel valued and recognized.

     sincere = 心からの
     lie in・・ = ・・にある
     valued = 尊重されている
     recognized = 認められている

    lie in は次の様な文でも使えます。
    The causes of the issue lie deep in the history of society.
    (英作文で書くことが思い浮かばない時に、”歴史" を視点にすると書く内         容を思いつく事も多いです。)

もう一つの文章は
Receiving compliments can motivate individuals to continue their good work and strive for excellence. 

motivate = 刺激する
strive for = 努力する
excellence = 優れていること

上の様な動名詞主語は、日本英語検定協会の英作文解答例でも、幅広い級で使われています。

1級：Supplying products at more affordable prices has the benefit of   
          consumers to buy more.

準1級：Receiving such offers can make it easier to negotiate a promotion.

2級：Limiting the number of visitors would help improve the daily lives of
         people near the tourist sites.
