Finite Moments with Family

[Decided to Share Love]

The time we have in life is finite.
Within that limited time, I decided I wanted to share love with my father.

To the father who directed anger toward me,
I now understand that “anger and hatred are forms of love.”

Beneath anger lies love.
The explosion of anger is, in truth, a desire to express the love hidden beneath it.

I released the anger that rose within me in response to my father’s anger,
and I embraced the sadness that lay underneath it.

I enveloped my inner child with love,
hugged myself, and hugged my father too.

I connected with my father’s soul and even with my grandfather’s soul.
I engaged in dialogue with my father’s inner child and my late grandfather.
When my father was able to feel and receive his father’s love, tears flowed from his eyes.

I felt my father’s inner child beginning to heal.

All of us grew up without truly knowing what real love is.
Like me, my father wrestled with inner struggles and sought true love.

But now, as our true selves,
we are connected to the love of the universe and capable of healing everything.

This love is the greatest gift from the universe.
I have grown into someone who can fully receive it and share it with others.

On Christmas Day, I called my estranged father.

I cried once again over the pain of not being understood
and the suffering of not being able to be the daughter he expected me to be.

But deeper than that, I realized and embraced the love we both feel for one another, and I was able to be honest about it.

“I care deeply for you, Dad.”
I wept with joy at being able to express that sentiment.

“Thank you. I care deeply for you too, Maiko.”
Through his words, I received the joy of being loved.

It was the greatest Christmas present.

Simply wanting to feel the time and space of being together,
I made plans with my father to take a trip.

To share love is to truly live.

~ I will become endlessly honest ~

~ I will endlessly embody love ~

My heart is overflowing with love,
enough to heal the entire Earth. 🌏
