親愛なる君へ
あけましておめでとう。
初めて海外で過ごす年越しだね。
昨年の今日は君はまだMamaのお腹の中にいたけれど、今日は家族一緒に新しい年を迎えられて、Papaはとても嬉しいよ。
朝、君はMamaの友達たちに囲まれて幸せそうな時間を過ごしていたね。そして、Mamaの親友のSちゃんが「君を見ているから、出かけてきていいよ」と言ってくれたので、PapaとMamaは鳥来（ウーライ）という名所に行ってきたんだ。君を置いていくのは少し心配だったけれど、Sちゃんの提案に甘えて、安心して出かけることにしたよ。
駅まではMamaが運転するバイクの後ろに乗って行ったんだけど、正直言って、めちゃくちゃ怖かったよ！💦 その後、山道を通る満員のバスに揺られて鳥来に向かったんだ。くねくねした道で結構疲れたけど、君を連れていくなら、やっぱり車がいいなと思ったよ。
鳥来では、8人乗りのトロッコ列車に乗ったり、滝を見たり、温泉に入ったりして、とても楽しい時間を過ごしたよ。Mamaと別行動した時は、お互いのエピソードを後でシェアしてね、「あそこも良かったね」と話し合ったりしたんだ。君ともこういう楽しい時間をもっと一緒に過ごせる日が来るのを、Papaは心から楽しみにしているよ。
今は君の成長や安全が第一だから、遠出や人混みの多い場所には慎重に行くようにしているけど、それでもすでに君といろいろな場所に行けているのがとても嬉しいよ。これからも君との思い出をたくさん作っていけたらいいなと思っている。
帰りは雨が降っていて、またMamaのバイクの後ろに乗ったんだけど、やっぱり怖かった！帰り道はまるで冒険みたいだったね、とMamaと笑いながら話したよ（本当は笑えないくらいだったけど💦）。
君も、慣れない場所やたくさんの人たちに囲まれて、きっと疲れているかもしれないね。今日はゆっくり休んで、また元気に新しい一年を始めようね。

Dear Son,
Happy New Year!
This is the first time Papa has spent New Year’s abroad.
Last year, you were still in Mama’s belly, but today, we are celebrating the New Year together as a family. That makes Papa very happy.
In the morning, you were surrounded by Mama’s friends and seemed to have such a wonderful time. Later, Mama’s best friend, S-chan, offered to look after you so that Mama and Papa could go to a famous spot called Wulai. Papa felt a little worried about leaving you behind, but Papa decided to accept S-chan’s kind offer and went with Mama.
To get to the station, Mama drove Papa on the back of her motorbike. Honestly, it was really scary! 💦 After that, we took a bus that went through winding mountain roads, packed with people. It was quite the adventure, and Papa thought, “If we bring you here in the future, it’s definitely better to come by car.”
Wulai was fantastic. Papa and Mama rode an 8-seater trolley train, saw waterfalls, and enjoyed a hot spring. When Papa and Mama split up to explore separately, we later shared stories about our experiences. It was fun to talk about what we both enjoyed. Papa hopes to have many moments like this with you in the future—going on adventures and creating wonderful memories together.
Right now, your growth and safety are Papa’s top priorities, so Papa is being cautious about long trips or crowded places. Still, it makes Papa very happy that we’ve already visited so many places together. Papa wants to keep making more memories with you, step by step.
On the way back, it started raining. Mama drove Papa on the motorbike again, and honestly, it was terrifying! Papa and Mama laughed about how the ride home felt like an adventure (though it wasn’t exactly something to laugh about 💦).
You’ve probably also felt a bit tired from being in an unfamiliar environment and meeting so many new people. Take it easy today, rest well, and let’s start this new year refreshed and full of energy.
