親愛なる息子へ

緑地公園、お気に入りのスタバから始まる木曜日

今朝は、Papaのお気に入りのカフェで集中して仕事。
その後、高槻の支店教室に行ったんだ。

朝の少しの時間、そして夜20時過ぎに帰ってからが君との時間。
疲れていることもあるけれど、Mamaとチームワークで君のケアを交代でしているよ。Papaが仕事で不在の間はMamaに任せっきりだから、できる限り帰った時は君と過ごしたいと思うんだ。

でも、疲れが抜けていない時、PapaもMamaに対して感情的になったり、Mamaからのお願いに素直に応じられなかったりすることがあるんだ。そんな自分を反省することもあるよ。そういう時は、君が生まれた時のことや、Mamaとの出会いを思い出して、ふっと落ち着くことがあるんだ。まだまだ未熟なPapaだけど、君とMamaのためにもっと器を広げていきたいと思っているよ。

今日はね、MamaがPapaに「しんどいことがあった」と打ち明けてくれたんだ。Mamaの家族の話だったよ。
Papaはただ聞くことしかできなかったけれど、それでもMamaのそばにいたいと思ったんだ。Mamaは「ありがとう」と言ってくれたけど、家族だからこそ、何かあった時はお互いが近くにいられたらいいね。もちろん、君のこともPapaはずっと、ずっと見守っているよ。

Thursday, starting at Papa’s favorite Starbucks in Ryokuchi Park

This morning, Papa spent some focused time working at Papa’s favorite café.
After that, Papa headed to the Takatsuki branch classroom.

The little time in the morning, and the time after Papa returns home past 8:00 PM, is all for you.
Even though Papa sometimes feels tired, Papa and Mama take turns caring for you as a team. While Papa is away at work, everything is left to Mama. So as much as possible, Papa wants to spend time with you when Papa comes home.

But sometimes, when Papa hasn’t fully recovered from the fatigue, Papa gets emotional with Mama or isn’t as receptive to Mama’s requests. Papa reflects on those moments and tries to do better. When that happens, Papa thinks back to the moment you were born or the time Papa met Mama. Those memories help Papa feel calm again. Papa still has a lot to learn and wants to grow as a person to be a better Papa for you and Mama.

Today, when Papa got home, Mama shared something that had been bothering her—it was about her family.
Papa could only listen, but Papa really wanted to be there for Mama, even if it was in a small way. Mama said, “Thank you,” but Papa thinks that’s just what family does. Whenever something happens, Papa hopes we can always be close to each other. Of course, Papa will always, always be there for you, watching over you no matter what.
