September 9 was a special day for Roopt Kagurazaka DAO.
Beds finally arrived at the accommodation. About 20 people gathered to assemble the beds. It was a valuable experience to be involved in the early stage of a shared house, making a bed that I might sleep in future.
At 4:00 pm, the beds arrived. It was huge! Since we were missing muscular members, we could not carry bed frames around. Therefore, we decided to leave it to the other members to take them upstairs. For a while, we placed them next to the stairs.
More people started to come in. However, members were not able to engage in intense physical labor. Therefore, five ladies started assembling the beds on the first floor.
The beds had many pipe parts to assemble. When we tightened the screws, one of them was out of alignment and did not fit. We realized one of the parts was facing the wrong way, so we had to redo the assembly several times.
The ladder screws and frames were so twisted that it was difficult to get them in, but the male members came to help me screw them in.
Finally, the first unit was completed. Even though we had people working on other beds in the other room, we moved to the main building to have a buffet party from 8:00 pm.
Everyone introduced themselves at the beginning of the party.
Since the ratio of the participants from IT industry was high, there were people having different interest as follows;
-a student introduced by an incubator called Gaiax,
-who is interested in DAO,
-who lives in the neighborhood,
-a reporter from a real estate-related media outlet.
I believe that Kagurazaka have the power to attract diversity.
I'm grateful to all the people that I met today, and this experience made me think that I would like to live here someday.
