[The Earl Of Funk]Earl Van Dykeはこう語っています。 Stevie WonderのMy Cherie Amourとかthe SupremesのSomeday We’ll Be TogetherみたいなMotownの名曲をCoverしてるのはあ当たり前だけMetersのCissy Strut、Sly and the Family StoneのThank Youみたいな非Motown的Funk名曲までやってくれてるのが最高。 リーダーのオルガン奏者Earl Van Dykeの名義になっているがもちろん、James Jemerson/James Jemerson/Robert White/Eddie "Bongo" BrownらFunk Brothers/George Benson(あの大スターとは同名異人)の面々が参加(本作でもmembersのcreditedは無し)擬似ライヴ仕立て。Funky Organ Soul Jazz
