う～ん、一時期橋下徹さんのファンやってて、橋本さんがトランプ大統領をほめるから、そうなんかなぁと思ってトランプ大統領をツイッターでフォローしたりしてたんだけど、なんか、発言の根拠を示さないって、どうなの？しかもこのデリケートな問題に対して。

What Trump said is technically true and it was a poorly worded question. It would have been better posed as, "Adjusted for population, why are African Americans being killed by the police at an alarmingly higher rate than whites are around the country?"

トランプ大統領の発言は厳密にいえば正しい。質問がお粗末だった。「人口に合わせて統計を取ると、なぜこの国では黒人は白人より極めて高い率で警察に殺されているんでしょうか？」と聞けばよかっただろう。
なるほどね～。漠然とした質問ではなく、統計からみた事実を突き詰めればよかったという意見ですね。これはわかります。
Technically true more white die from police but that is because there are a ton of white people. Black people are waaaaay more likely to be killed because there are fewer than white people. It is how percentages works

厳密に言うと多くの白人が警察に殺されるのは事実。でもそれはたくさんの白人がいるから。黒人は白人より数が少ないから、殺される確率がずっと高い。それがパーセンテージの仕組み。
なるほど～。みなさん冷静ですね。私は「まぁたトランプ大統領、何言っちゃってんのよ！」って思っていましたけど、質問の仕方も悪かったんですね。数の話じゃなくて、確率の話をすべきだったわけですね。
リンゲージのアメリカ人先生たちは、トランプに投票するかな？もちろん政治的な話はしない方がいいから、「だれに投票するの？」なんて聞けないけどね！
