Happy 17th year of blogging + Introduction (English Only)

Introduction

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Takuyakun, also known in other social media websites as xcrossfacekillahx in a lot of social media platforms. I tend to like a lot of sports, idols, sometimes wrestling and a lot of Japanese related stuff.

17 years of blogging, what is it?

My journey started around 2007, where my teacher back then tried a social experiment within class where we would write our weekly journals in a separate notebook and post it in a website so that he would see what our thoughts are. It wasn't assessed so it wasn't really a part of the final mark. Back then I had a fear of writing paragraphs for essays so I didn't really want to answer a lot of problems that would involve me writing a lot of words. When he revealed in class that he has a website, it made me want to have one. At that time, there were options for us to use such as Wordpress or Blogspot, in which the user interface was friendly enough for beginners.

I enjoyed the social experiment so much that I could write my thoughts on it. I normally did it for fun so I'm just posting things that I like but wasn't as serious as bloggers who are monetizing their content on those platforms. Eventually, this led me to choose a Computer class called Web Development where I would study CSS and JavaScript language to design websites and edit websites to become beautiful enough for that class.

I only posted what I wanted to post like wrestling, anime and sports related content but at that time, short form content would be on the rise as Twitter would gain popularity and blogs were not going to be reliable as readily accessible content is very vital to spread announcements and news across the internet at an instant. TikTok is popular these days, so are Snapchat and Instagram. Messaging apps are also in use such as LINE, and WhatsApp. Consumption of SNS has changed during that time. Discussion forum boards were popular depending on the topic but not as much now as Reddit has been the go to place for some people.

I miss Suzuka because of all the live streams recently.

Why I am going back to blogging?

I am not going back full time. I just thought I would want to have a restart after abandoning the sites that I have for years. I'm not a content creator or have gone down this path as my career. I just want an outlet to get all my emotions out and have organized thoughts put down here so when I look back at this, I know something happened that time that I would like to cherish and memories can come back if there is empirical evidence that the photos and videos are shared here.

Here's a sample blog from Ameblo

But rather migrating old stuff from my blogs, I want a brand new start so I hope I can do that here. The user interface for the text editor seems great but I wish I can play with it more and then optimize my posts by using decent photos and videos to further supplement the text that is written here.

Conclusion

It's been a while since I wrote something. Most of the time, I'll put photos and videos to accompany this post so that the blog wouldn't be as boring as it is right now. I don't know what to do with it but I might put my trip reports here. For nostalgic reasons I did dig up my former classmate's blog posts through Wayback Machine and I remember how it was not as useful to convey messages unless everybody was on the internet which wasn't really that much when you were young and having fun. I hope I can find any use with this website that will be meaningful as time goes by.
