"New Divide" - Linkin Park; 新しい方向性へ【和訳】
大詰めのLinkin Parkライブ予習。本日訳あって有休取って生まれ故郷でのんびりしているので、2本目のアップといこう。今回は「New Divide」。
前回紹介した「What I've Done」に続き、映画『トランスフォーマー リベンジ』の主題歌となっており、そのサントラに収録されている。
Linkin Parkのアルバムには正式には入っていないのだが、4枚目のアルバム『A Thousand Suns』のボーナストラックでライブ音源を聴くことができる。
正直、わたしがしっかり聴いていたのは3枚目の『Minutes to Midnight』まで。このあたりからはちょっとそれまでのリンキンの曲とは毛色が変わってしまって、なんとなく離れてしまっていた。
でもいま改めて聴くと、やはりいい曲だなと思う。チェスターの伸びやかなボーカルの力も大きいとは思うけれど。
とはいえこんな短期間聴いただけでは考察もそんなにできず、語れることもあまりないので、とりあえず動画と和訳に進みたいと思う。
エミリー版。サビやコーラスのマイクとのユニゾン・ハモリがとても美しい。これは女性ヴォーカルならではの強みかもしれない。
