"In the End" - Linkin Park; 結局、時間の無駄だった【和訳】
目前に迫るLinkin Parkのライブに向けて、定番曲を復習していくシリーズ。第4回の今回は「In the End」。1st アルバム『Hybrid Theory』には8番目の収録曲だ。
この曲もライブ定番曲。コーラスはオーディエンスも一緒に歌っているライブ動画が多い。ぜひ覚えてライブで合唱したいものだ。
歌詞の内容は、これまたこじれてしまった人間関係について。
信頼して一生懸命できる限りのことをしてきたけど、結局それは時間の無駄だった。と。
折角築いてきた関係が時間の無駄だったと思えるほどこじれるのは、それまでに相当傷ついたんだと思う。時間の無駄なんて思いたくないけれど、一生懸命心を砕いたのに自分には何も残らないなら（ましてやマイナスにしかならないのなら）、そう思ってしまっても仕方がない。
そういう相手とはさっさと離れるべき、って、冷静な第三者としてなら簡単に言えるけれど、自分が当事者だとなかなか難しい。
かくいう自分も、時間は無駄にしてしまってきた方かもしれない。
この先の人生は、できるだけ自分の時間を大事にしなければ。
（その観点で言えば、ひとりで生きるのは本当に楽）
デビューアルバムにして最大のヒット作であるこのアルバムには、名曲・ヒット曲が多く、本当ならばすべて復習したいところだけれど、時間も限られているのでとりあえず今回までとする。
次回からは2ndアルバム『Meteora』の収録曲を復習していく予定。
