"Cut the Bridge" - Linkin Park; 関係を終わらせる【和訳】
Linkin Parkのライブに向けて最新作『From Zero』を予習していくシリーズ、2回目の今回は「Cut the Bridge」。
マイク・シノダのラップから始まる、リンキンらしい1曲。
そして相も変わらず人間関係の難しさを表した歌詞。
「橋を落とす」「燃やす」という表現から、ある人との関係を終わらせようとしているのかな、と想像する。
喧嘩したりぶつかったりしても仲直りしてもとの関係に戻れるという人もいるだろうけれど、わたし自身は人間関係がこじれるともとに戻ることはほぼない。
一度傷ついたらずっと引きずってしまってもとには戻れない。相手がどう思っていようと自分の中ではその相手との関わりは断ちたいと思ってしまう。ゼロ百思考というのか、なんならその関係自体なかったことにしたい。
これまでの人生で、そうやって焼き落としてきた橋がいくつかあったなぁと思いながら歌詞を読んでいた。
ラップ部分は覚えるのが難しいが、この曲はサビのコーラス「Cut it down, cut it down, down, cut it, cut it down」が覚えられればライブは一緒に盛り上がれるのではないかと思う。拳を突き上げて一緒に叫んでみたい！
