Today is Halloween. One of my colleagues shared some interesting history about the holiday. Originally, people in Britain celebrated the harvest during this time of year. They believed that evil spirits, like ghosts, could ruin the harvest, so they tried to ward off these spirits by saying something like "trick or treat." Her explanation makes sense.
